The Snowball Effect

The Snowball Effect

October 25, 2024

For the first time, Regan Gallagher is facing the world without her best friend by her side – no, Sutton isn’t dead but she is in Rome, following her dreams. And Regan really is thrilled for her. Left to her own devices, she’s doing… fine. Oh, except for the fact that her new roommate, Emma Bordeaux, has hated Regan since the literal day they’d met two years ago. Sure, most of their interactions end in disaster and Regan is the root cause, but they are all accidents! She’ll win Emma over though; she’s determined to make this living arrangement work come hell or high water. Emma never planned on finding herself living with the most frustrating person she’d ever met, but for rent this low, she’s positive that she can put up with anything Regan throws her way. What she isn’t sure she can handle is her mom returning to her life, wanting to bond with Emma. She definitely doesn’t know how to manage her mom believing that she and Regan are a couple. And she doesn’t want to deal with the fact that Regan seems far too into acting the part. Perhaps the most daunting aspect of all is realizing that she might have been wrong about Regan all along…

Oh my GOD, Haley! This book has possibly become my favorite sapphic romance I've read (and I've read many at this point. Emma and Regan are such a well balanced couple, and the issues they faced along the way are SO REAL. I've shipped them since To Those Who Wait, practically from the very first scene they were in together, and the fact that they WORK so well is such a special experience to get to read. A+++. As always: the writing was incredible, the characters are fleshed out and REAL, the emotions were OFF THE CHARTS PERFECT. Not sure if I can wait to re-read it again.

This book was amazing!! Emma is a total ice queen who melts and I love it. Having read Those Who Wait this helped me understand Regan sooo much more as well. Haley has a gift for making people fall in love with her characters and delivered once again with this!

Haley Cass does it again. Reading this, I lacked the utter self-control to put it down. Not only are Regan and Emma fascinating and interesting characters fully in their own right, but their romance together is adorable and soft and also very, very hot. Cass has this incredible ability and skill to write the most endearing characters and the most swoon-worthy romances, and this book is another phenomenal example of her phenomenal writing.
