Riley Beckett met Gianna Mäkinen – drop-dead gorgeous influencer, trilingual, daughter of world-famous models, yes, that Gianna Mäkinen – their first year at Boston University, and it changed everything for the both of them. After all, when you find the person who just gets you, nothing feels quite "the same" right? And in the ten years since, Riley has come to depend on Gianna more than anyone else in her life. She knows Gianna just as well as she knows herself – maybe better, some days. She knows Gianna is incredibly sex-positive, she knows Gianna doesn't do romance or relationships, and she knows nothing could ever come between them. This is what makes sense to her, all of this is status-quo. But when a holiday party mix-up sets in motion a domino effect of changes to these previously inalienable truths, Riley has to question everything she thought she knew about their relationship. What, exactly, does Gianna mean to her after all?

Even as I raced through this book, I hoped it would never end. Haley Cass writes such gorgeous romances. Her characters are soo fully formed and we get amazing insight into their emotions. I loved the way this story was woven together. The poignancy of the friendship and how that only deepened as the story progressed. Gianna’s vulnerability and heart will stay with me, as will Riley’s compassion and drive for honesty. Beautifully done and perfectly steamy.

Haley Cass has crafted an exquisite romance novel that resonates deeply with readers. Her writing skillfully evokes a spectrum of emotions, from the comforting warmth of intimacy to the thrilling pulse of passion. As I journeyed through the story, I found myself fully immersed in the characters' joys and moments of happiness. Truly, Cass has a gift for making readers feel every sentiment on the page. Not gonna lie, I’m a fan of Haley Cass’s writing style. Yes, she is a prolific user of words (this book is over 500 pages) but the way she strings them together is like a melody. I really enjoyed the character arc, the different POV’s, the details, the emotions, the surprises. And let’s be honest, wouldn’t we all like a friend like Riley in our lives? I read a ton of books, but very few leave me with the need to just let it settle before I start another. This one needs that time, it’s that good.
